UC Clermont College to Host Macy's Arts Sampler
UC Clermont College will be hosting family-friendly activities on 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 27.
Generously sponsored by our friends at Macy's, ArtsWave's FREE annual arts festival is celebrating its 30th year connecting people to the amazing arts opportunities offered in our region. The annual Macys Arts Sampler celebrates the creative things music, dance, theater, museums, and festivals happening in large and small ways throughout our region.
All events are free and open to the public. UC Clermont is located at 4200 Clermont College Dr. in Batavia.
Macy's Arts Sampler - Event Schedule
Saturday, February 27, 10 am - 2 pm
10 - 10:45 a.m. Drumming for Fun
Join us for a family-friendly, hands-on drum circle with Roberta Schultz. No prior experience is necessary, drums and additional percussion are provided.
10 a.m. 2 p.m. Craft Corner
Practice your artistic skills at the craft tables with a variety of family-friendly activities.
10 a.m. 2 p.m. Gallery Exhibit- Optical Hopscotch by Craig Hill
10:30 - 11:30 a.m. Tinga Tinga African Art Workshop
The Tinga Tinga painting style is characterized by vibrant color and many, many dots! Professor Kelly Frigard will lead participants in the creation of intricate, yet primitive works featuring scenes of Africa.
11 - 11:30 a.m. Ritmo Rhythm and Movement Workshop
With live musical instruments and hands-on learning participants develop important mind-body skills as they drum, dance and play. This workshop is geared for elementary aged children.
12 - 2 p.m. Face Painting
Artist Jennifer Pilott, owner of Fabulous Faces by Jen, returns once again to create awesome works of art using your face as the canvas!
1 - 2 p.m. Air-Dry Clay Marbelizing Workshop
Adjunct Professor Anthony Wolking will engage participants in a hands-on clay marbelizing experience to create a unique tile to take home.

For more than 20 years, UC Clermont College has proudly participated in the Cincinnati ArtsWave Sampler as a venue in Clermont County. Celebrated annually, the arts sampler is one of the largest FREE arts festivals in the nation.
The entire event spotlights the Greater Cincinnati areas many arts venues, artists and performers through its more than 100 free activities. As a participant, UC Clermont College features numerous family-friendly arts-focused activities and workshops and our Krueger Auditorium hosts everything from theatre and dance to hand-on music workshops.
