UC Clermont Presents Summer Theatre Camp June 6-11
UC Clermont College is offering Calico Theatre Camp this summer on campus. The camp is a fully-staged musical for young actors in grades K-12 (kindergartners must be entering first grade in the fall of 2016). Camp will take place June 6-11.
This seasons show title is Aladdin. The theatre camp culminates in two performances open to family, friends and the general public. A complimentary workshop is included in the cost of camp. The theatre camp is held on the UC Clermont College campus at 4200 Clermont College Dr., in Batavia, in the Krueger Auditorium.
The Calico Children's Theatre partners with Missoula Childrens Theatre (MTC) to provide a fun and engaging theatre camp. MCT is the premier internationally-renowned touring childrens theatre program whose mission is to provide the development of life skills through participation in the performing arts. Scripts are structured specifically for the Tours short rehearsal period, and recognize the needs of the individual child. Major roles are large, complex and challenging; ensemble parts emphasize unison songs, actions and movements. There is an audition process.
Registration is now open. Specific roles will be determined at auditions.
Cost
The non-refundable camp registration fee is $120 per acting role and $65 per assistant director role. All that register are guaranteed a part (based on grade level availability).

Summary of this seasons show Aladdin: For Aladdin its not easy to find a magic lamp but its even harder to get a date! Its a swirling sandstorm of famous Arabian Tales from Ali Baba to Scheherazade, and even Sinbad the Sailor, as Aladdin journeys to find a magic lamp in a Cave of (not-so-great) Wonders. Along his way, Aladdin seeks answers and advice from wise Genies, a powerful Sultan, and his own Mother, to find a way to meet the Princess. However, even with the lamp in hand, Aladdin will have to learn that it takes more than a wish to make a good impression. Full of memorable characters, from lost Penguins to talking Palm Trees, this is an adventure worthy of 1001 laughs.
