Shields Street Parking Lot Opens and Lot 13 Closes Monday, Oct. 3
As part of the Medical Campus Master Plan project, the Shields Street parking lot north of Kettering will open on Monday, Oct. 3, 2016. The Shields Street entrance will be for reserved parking and deliveries only. Lot 13--the parking lot adjacent to the Kettering Lab and Radiation Safety Offices--will be permanently closed, including to pedestrian traffic, also on Monday, Oct. 3.
With the closing of Lot 13 to vehicle and pedestrian traffic, Kettering Lab and Kowalewski Hall can be accessed by taking the sidewalk along Eden Avenue to the north and around Kowalewski Hall to the north entrance of Kettering.
The permanent closing of Lot 13 to pedestrian traffic will impact some egress routes from Kettering Lab. The doors on the southeast corner of the building will be closed once Lot 13 is permanently closed and Kettering Lab can be entered through the northeast entrance.
