UC Clermont Will Host 3rd Annual Phil Sinkovich Classic December 9
The UC Clermont Cougars will host the Third Annual Phil Sinkovich Basketball Classic on Saturday, Dec. 9.
The Cougars will host Warren Wilson College from Asheville, North Carolina, for a doubleheader. The Clermont Annual Mens Basketball Alumni Game will kick off the classic and will include many of Coach Sinkovichs former players returning to campus.
Sinkovich started the basketball program at UC Clermont College in 1990 and was head coach for 12 years with a record of 251-121. His teams were Ohio Regional Campus Conference (ORCC) Champions in 1995, 1997 and 1998 and ORCC Runners-Up in 1994, 1996, 2000 and 2001. During those years, he also served as the colleges athletic coordinator. Sinkovich was instrumental in growing the athletic program from just tennis and mens basketball to womens volleyball, women's basketball, softball and golf. He is a 1969 graduate of Mount Saint Marys College, Maryland, and received his masters degree from Washington College, Maryland.
Sinkovich also served as an assistant basketball coach at Adrian College, Michigan, head basketball coach at Owens College, Toledo, Ohio, and was a teacher and head basketball coach at Anderson High School. For the past 13 years, Sinkovich worked as a district administrator in the Forest Hills School District before his retirement.

Admission : $5 (UC students with ID, children 12-under and senior citizens FREE)

UC Clermont Athletics includes Women's Volleyball, Men's & Women's Soccer, Mens and Womens Basketball, Baseball and Softball. The UC Clermont Cougars participate in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA). The Cougars have been successful in bringing home national championship titles in mens and womens basketball and baseball. In addition, the volleyball and softball programs have been ranked nationally and have been highly competitive in national tournament play.
