DAAP Presents 67th Annual Fashion Show

The next generation of fashion designers will soon send fresh design and vision down the runway at the 67th annual University of Cincinnati

DAAP Fashion Show

.

For the 13th consecutive year, Macy’s will be the presenting sponsor of the fashion show, which will take place at 7:30 p.m., Friday, April 27, at the UC Campus Recreation Center.

Tickets are now on sale — and are expected to sell out — and quantities are limited. Preferred seating tickets are $60 and can be purchased here. VIP Tickets are $150, include admission to the dean’s pre-show reception and can be purchased by contacting Sarita Naegel at 513-477-3712 or snaegel@fuse.net. All attendees are invited to the DAAP alumni-sponsored after-party.

The show will feature the work of 48 senior students and select underclassmen from DAAP’s world-renowned Myron E. Ullman, Jr. School of Design. Models will wear more than 300 one-of-a-kind designs while strutting down a 92-foot catwalk to a live-mixed soundtrack. Hair and makeup will be designed by Aveda Fredric’s Institute students, with staging and lighting elements created by students from UC’s College-Conservatory of Music.

This will be the final fashion show under DAAP Dean Robert Probst, who is stepping down this spring after 40 years at the university. Probst will walk the runway one final time alongside daughter and alumna Jasmine Probst. Now a noted Facebook strategist, Jasmine modeled in DAAP fashion shows as a teen.

“Macy’s is proud to present the annual DAAP Fashion Show at the University of Cincinnati,” says Jim McGowan, Macy’s District Vice President. “The students of DAAP are the future of fashion, and once again, we are thrilled to support these talented young designers as they debut their incredible collections to the city of Cincinnati and beyond.”

“The DAAP Fashion Show is truly the fashion event of the year,” said Laurie Wilson, show director. “The garments are one-of-a-kind originals, and the audience is entertained in a way we don’t find around here. It is the ‘fastest flight’ to the fashion capitals of New York, Paris or Milan as you are transformed in space and time without leaving Ohio.”

The fashion show coincides with DAAPworks, the annual showcase that highlights the creative output of each year's graduating class at the college. Works from architecture, fine arts, industrial design and many other programs will be exhibited throughout the college April 24-27.
