UC Dedicates Marian Spencer Hall
The University of Cincinnati celebrates activist, civil leader and alumna
in dedicating its newest residence hall in her name at 2 p.m. Monday, March 19.
A 1942 graduate, Spencer has been a lifelong champion of civil rights. She joined the NAACP at age 13, led the movement to desegregate Cincinnati Public Schools and Coney Island and was the first African-American woman elected to Cincinnati City Council.
