Learn to Breathe Deeply and Enjoy the Day with Communiversity Yoga
The growing popularity of yoga is no surprise, given the many benefits yoga has to offer. Yoga can improve flexibility, balance, whole-body strength, recovery, range of motion and focus. For athletes in particular, the dynamic stretching of yoga poses and properly designed yoga exercises can counteract the tightness and imbalances that come from daily workouts.
It is now possible to gain the many benefits of yoga in the convenient location of UC Victory Parkway Campus with the new Every Day Yoga class this spring.
is a series of yoga practices designed to help students establish their yoga routine while nurturing their curiosity. The classes will explore some of yogas most ancient and fundamental practices through a modern frame-of-mind. Students will learn the power of breathing, movement and stillness in today's ever-changing world and discover how to live an Ayurvedic lifestyle.
takes place Wednesdays from April 18 to May 23 from 6:15 to 7:17 p.m. The course fee is $99. Students should bring a yoga mat, towel and bottle of water and wear yoga pants, leggings, or loose-fitting shorts.
Im extremely pleased to join Communiversity this spring with my Every Day Yoga course to allow participants to take some time to learn how to use their everyday around them to focus in the moment and breathe deeply, course instructor Audrey Hamilton said.
In the course, new yogis will have the opportunity to learn variations of Hatha Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, Restorative Yoga and Yin Yoga. Building on each session, students will learn how to adopt poses when they start their day, sit or stand in class or work, drive or ride the bus, go about the day and then bring the day to a close. Hamilton said students will leave the course with the ability to enjoy the day rather than letting the day take them.
Often we as humans are conditioned to routine, which is great, Hamilton said. However, we can assemble robotically or on autopilot by the breaths and movements we make. Every Day Yoga is bringing the awareness to the body and mind throughout the day to take the time to breathe deeply and be present and acknowledge that you can yoga anywhere!
