UCPD honors UC athletics associate with Police Community Collaboration Award
The University of Cincinnati Police Division is proud to announce the recipient of this years Annual Police Community Collaboration Award, created in 2017 to recognize those individuals and entities that dedicate time and energy to assisting the division.
Beth Hussey, athletics associate, has gone above and beyond for UCPD in the past year, according to Police Chief Maris Herold.
Beth was instrumental to the creation of our recruitment video, Herold said. Due to her hard work scheduling members of the Department of Athletics staff for scenes, the video was a success. We recruited more than 270 people in 30 days thanks to Beth.
In addition, Hussey helped catch a serial theft offender in the spring when she called UCPD after seeing a suspicious person walking around Lindner Center trying to get into offices. Her call led to the arrest of the offender.
Beth is a rock star at crime prevention, Herold said.
UCPD surprised Hussey with a celebration and presentation on July 20 in Lindner Center. Hussey later expressed her appreciation.
Im so honored to be recognized by UC Public Safety, Hussey said. They are great partners of the Department of Athletics and do so much to make our campus a safe place for everyone. The staff at UC Public Safety provides critical resources for Athletics staff, student-athletes and fans. I am humbled to have been chosen by them as this years Appreciation Award recipient.
