UC Provides Free Breast and Cervical Screening
Ohio women aged 40 and over with limited income or insufficient health insurance could be eligible for free breast and cervical cancer screening, thanks to the UC Breast and Cervical Cancer Project (BCCP).
The project, intended to improve a patient's chances of recovery through early diagnosis, is funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Ohio Department of Health BCCP Medicaid program. It is administered in southwestern Ohio by UC's Division of Gynecologic Oncology, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Participants will receive a free Pap test, pelvic exam, clinical breast exam, mammogram and follow-up diagnostic procedures at any of 60 contracted sites throughout southwestern Ohio. Local couple uses royalties from children's books to give gifts to kids in need

A local couple has found a unique way to give back to those in need this holiday season. Vic and Laura Troha wrote two children's books together, and this year, they are using the proceeds to buy Christmas gifts for Hamilton County foster kids. The couple are both graduates of the University of Cincinnati's College of Allied Health Sciences and met the day they graduated.
