UC Scientist Wins Parkinson's Research Award
Kim Seroogy, PhD, professor in the UC Department of Neurology, has received a $250,000 grant from the Michael J. Fox Foundations 2004 Community Fast Track Program.
Dr. Seroogys team in the Selma Schottenstein Harris Laboratory for Research in Parkinsons Disease at UC will study the potential therapeutic value of two proteins from the neuregulin family of growth factors. Their goal is to identify the best candidate for future preclinical testing.
Six national and local Parkinsons disease groups and a charitable trust teamed with the Fox Foundation to award more than $3.6 million to 18 outstanding researchers around the world.
