University Pointe Surgical Hospital Earns Joint Commission Accreditation

WEST CHESTER—Following an unannounced, comprehensive on-site evaluation, University Pointe Surgical Hospital was awarded the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™ accreditation.

The accreditation process evaluates quality and safety within health care organizations, and identifies opportunities for improvement for organizations to continuously provide safe, high-quality care, treatment and services.

The Joint Commission found the hospital compliant at all levels within the Hospital Accreditation Program, and granted accreditation for the next 39 months for all services surveyed.

University Pointe Surgical Hospital is a joint partnership between UC Physicians and the Health Alliance of Greater Cincinnati. The eight-bed hospital specializes in inpatient and outpatient surgeries, including endoscopies, biopsies, orthopedic procedures, gynecologic surgeries, cosmetic surgeries, bariatric procedures, pain management procedures, orthopedic surgeries and ear, nose and throat procedures. The hospital also offers diagnostic imaging, including MRI, CT, ultrasound and mammography.

“University Pointe’s accreditation highlights the fact that we are committed to continuously meeting rigorous national standards of excellence,” said Carol King, executive director of University Point Surgical Hospital. “The Joint Commissions’ findings demonstrate how dedicated our physicians, clinical staff and associates are to providing the very best care for patients.”

The Joint Commission accreditation and certification are nationally recognized as reflections of an organization’s commitment to meeting certain performance standards.
