Originally from Lebanon, Dima Diab, MD, completed her bachelors degree in biology at the American University of Beirut (AUB) in 1998. She stayed at AUB to complete her medical degree, which she earned in 2002.
Diab spent one additional year in Beirut for an internal medicine internship and then came to the University of Cincinnati for a three-year internal medicine residency. She completed a fellowship in endocrinology at The Cleveland Clinical Foundation in 2008 before joining UCs faculty and University of Cincinnati Physicians.
Diab is fluent in Arabic and English and sees patients at the UC Health Physicians Office in Clifton. Appointments or referrals can be made by calling (513) 475-7400.
How long have you been with UC?
"I have been with UC since July 2008 as assistant professor of clinical medicine with the UC Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism.
What is your current clinical focus?
"I see general endocrinology and diabetes patients with a special focus on osteoporosis and metabolic bone diseases. (Diab is now reading bone mineral density scans (DXA scans) with the UC Bone Health and Osteoporosis Center in Clifton.)
What do you find most rewarding about caring for patients?
"Getting to know the patients and being able to make a difference not only by treating them medically, but also by supporting them personally.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
"My hobbies and interests include playing the piano, going to the theater, swimming and spending quality time with my family.
