CCTST Grand Rounds on Foodborne Disease Aug. 19
The next Center for Clinical and Translational Science and Training Grand Rounds, co-sponsored by the UC Center for Environmental Genetics, will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, in Medical Sciences Building Room 4051.
From 11 a.m. to noon, Barbara Kowalcyk, a doctoral student in epidemiology and biostatistics, and CEO and director of research for the nonprofit Center for Foodborne Illness Research & Prevention, will present "From Farm to Fork to Physician: Assessing the Sequelae of Foodborne Disease.
After Kowalcyk, Alison Weiss, PhD, will discuss "Shiga Toxin- Genes on the Move. Weiss is a professor in the department of molecular genetics, biochemistry and microbiology.
