Donating blood is safe and easy. You must weigh at least 110 pounds and bring identification to donate. It is recommended that donors eat a good meal and drink plenty of water within four hours before donating.
Hoxworth Blood Center needs a minimum of 350 volunteer blood donors and 40 platelet donors each day to meet the needs of patients in the community, and Ronald Sacher, MD, director of the center, and his team are asking you to help them meet this goal.
"Approximately an hour dedicated to donation could save the lives of those who need a blood transfusion due to an automobile accident or elective surgical procedure, he says. "The whole process takes about an hournot much time in the whole scheme of things. Its simple. Bring a buddy or your favorite book. Sit back, relax
and save a life.

Also, many people think that blood donations cannot be taken from people with tattoos, but this is not the case as long as the tattoo was administered in a licensed facility in Ohio, Indiana or Kentucky and the scarring is healed. Learn more about tattoos and blood donation here.
UC Health has acquired Cincinnati Arthritis Associates (CAA), a professional medical subspecialty group that provides patient-centered care for Tristate residents.
