Vote for UC Med Students in Global Health Competition

It’s time to vote! Not for the president just yet, but for our two first-year medical students—Junzi Shi and Sara Waddell—who are finalists in the "Take a Trip with Timmy" contest. While the contest’s title might sound like first prize is a vacation, it’s no trip to Disneyland. The winners (two of 10 finalists) will receive the opportunity and funding to spend up to three weeks in Guatemala, Ecuador or the Dominican Republic, helping provide medical treatment in the world's poorest communities.

The next phase of the contest asks for public participation to select the two winners by visiting the website and voting on the students' videos. In the videos, finalists reflect on what led them to the medical field and explain their desire to promote improvements in global health care; both UC entrants are a moving testament to the impact one person’s drive and passion can have on the world.

To view the videos and vote, visit takeatripwithtimmy.org.

Video voting will be open until noon Friday, March 9.
