Procter & Gamble Scientific Lectureship Series May 17

The Department of Dermatology will host Hensin Tsao, MD, PhD, as the Procter & Gamble Visiting Lecturer on Thursday, May 17.

Tsao is associate professor of dermatology at Harvard Medical School. After joining the Wellman Center for Photomedicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, he established the Skin Cancer Genetics Laboratory and the hospital’s Melanoma Genetics Program in order to better understand the molecular basis of melanoma predisposition, progression and therapeutic response.

He will present, "Personalizing Skin Cancer Care in the Genomic Era,” at 10 a.m. in the Heaton Conference Center (Room G344) on the ground level of the Hoxworth Building. For more information, call Janet Burdsall at 513-584-6803.

New combination treatment improves multiple myeloma outcomes

The University of Cincinnati Cancer Center's Ed Faber, DO, provided commentary to Medscape on the COBRA study that found the combination of carfilzomib combined with lenalidomide and dexamethasone (KRd) shows significantly greater efficacy than the previous standard of care.
