Location Changed: Charles Sabine Lecture on Research Freedom, Huntington's Disease Sept. 27
The Fellows of the Graduate School and UC's CCTST welcome Emmy Award-winning journalist Charles Sabine for a special seminar at 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, in Kresge Auditorium of the Medical Sciences Building (MSB).
Sabine will discuss "The Pursuit of Hope and Dignity: Why Every Link in the Medical Chain Matters."
An international correspondent with NBC News for 26 years, in 2008 Sabine became a pioneering spokesman for freedom of scientific research and sufferers of degenerative brain illnesses--in particular, Huntingtons disease, which has ravaged his family.
In that role he has spoken at prestigious venues across the world, including the European and British parliaments, Royal Institution in London and World Congress for Freedom of Scientific Research. Sabine's father and brother both died of Huntington's, and genetic testing revealed that he too carries the gene for the disease.
