AHC Faculty and Staff Honored for UC Contributions
Hundreds of Academic Health Center faculty and staff who have continually contributed to the University were recognized on Oct. 10 at the annual UC Loyalty Society Luncheon.
Among those celebrated by Interim President Santa Ono and the UC Foundation were 90 AHC faculty and staff who have supported UC for more than 30 years. That number is 41 percent of the 222 donating for more than three decades. Several of these people have been making annual donations for more than 40 years.
"I feel its important that we take time to say thank you for your generosity as well as your tremendous work. I have a sincere appreciation for your work, whether you educate, administer, maintain, facilitate, coach, diagnose or research. What you do for UC makes us thrive, President Ono told those gathered at the luncheon. "And you have given me true cause to be proud, as this year, a record breaking 55 percent of current and retired employees made gifts to UC through the Proudly Cincinnati Faculty Staff campaign.
Through the year 4,693 active and retired employees contributed more than $8.6 million to the universitys Faculty and Staff Campaign. All contributions count toward the Proudly Cincinnati capital campaign, which currently stands at $947.1 million, less than $53 million from its $1 billion goal.
The Loyalty Society recognizes all employee donors through a special Honor Roll of Supporters, which is organized by milestone anniversary levels of 10, 20, 30 and 40 cumulative years of giving. In addition to being listed among the universitys most passionate supporters, Loyalty Society members also receive a special pin based on their most recent milestone level.
The complete list of donors from this year can be found at https://uc.edu/foundation/donor_recognition/loyalty_society/honor_roll.html.
