Work on Monday Night, Oct. 15, Requires Emergency Power Shutdown

Work on the Medical Sciences Building (MSB) rehabilitation project will require an emergency power shutdown of approximately six hours in portions of the MSB beginning at 9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, 2012.

Any critical equipment should be switched to normal power for the night, as emergency power receptacles will be affected along with Internet connectivity. Receptacles on emergency power typically have an "E” on the plate cover.

This shutdown will affect the southeast and southwest quadrants on Levels 4-7 of the MSB, with the power outage on each floor lasting approximately 30 minutes. (The southeast quadrant is adjacent to the Cardiovascular Research Center and UC Health University Hospital; the southwest quadrant is adjacent to Eden Avenue and University Hospital.)

The loss of Internet during these outages will occur because the data rooms are on emergency power.
