Obici Named Reading Campus Scientific Director

Silvana Obici, MD, associate professor in the division of endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism, has been named scientific director of the College of Medicine’s Reading Campus operations. Obici will report to Stephen Strakowski, MD, senior associate dean for research.

In her role as scientific director, Obici will serve as the primary representative of the College of Medicine programs based at UC’s Reading Campus, including the programs collectively recognized as the Metabolic Diseases Institute.

She will build on existing programs and enfranchise others—both within and outside the college—which are or will be co-located in Reading. Obici will serve as the primary interface with the key faculty of those programs and will serve as the faculty partner to the campus administrative director.
