Chen to Speak on E-Waste at AAAS Meeting
Aimin Chen, MD, PhD, an assistant professor in the UC Department of Environmental Health Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, is an invited speaker for the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), scheduled for Feb. 14-18 in Boston. Chen will speak Friday, Feb. 15, as part of a program on the environmental impacts of electronic waste (e-waste) recycling. His talk is titled, "E-Waste Recycling in Developing Countries: Concerns of Developmental Toxicity.
Chen is part of a team within the environmental health department that is leading an international population study examining the human developmental effects of environmental exposure to the complex metal mixture found in e-waste. Founded in 1948, AAAS is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing science around the world. It has offices in Washington, D.C., and Cambridge, England.
