Zimmer to Direct Rhinology & Cranial Base Surgery Program
Lee Zimmer, MD, PhD, associate professor of otolaryngologyhead and neck surgery, has been named director of the Rhinology & Anterior Cranial Base Surgery Program housed within the UC Department of OtolaryngologyHead and Neck Surgery.
The division encompasses the areas of rhinology, anterior cranial base surgery, allergy and taste and smell. Division members include Allen Seiden, MD, professor of otolaryngologyhead and neck surgery, and Al Sassler, DO, associate professor of otolaryngologyhead and neck surgery.
Zimmer developed the endoscopic cranial base center in collaboration with the department of neurosurgery and Mayfield Clinic at UCMC in 2005. That program is now nationally and internationally recognized for both clinical and academic achievement.
His charge for the division now is quality, evidence-based clinical care and to develop a nationally recognized center for research and clinical trials.
