Sandoval Appointed to NIH Study Section

Darleen Sandoval, PhD, assistant professor of medicine, division of endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism, has been selected to serve as a member of the Integrative Physiology of Obesity and Diabetes Study Section at the Center for Scientific Review of the National Institutes of Health. Her appointment runs from July 1, 2013, through June 30, 2017.

Sandoval’s research is focused on blood glucose regulation by the central nervous system and the biological underpinnings of bariatric surgery that affect diabetes and obesity. As a member of the Study Section, she will review grant applications, make recommendations on the applications submitted and survey the status of the research in her field of science.
