Otten Receives Kenyon College Humanitarium Award

Edward "Mel” Otten, MD, professor of emergency medicine, received the 2012-2013 Kenyon College Alumni Council Humanitarian Service Award. 

The award is given by the Kenyon College Alumni Council to alumni who have demonstrated a lifelong commitment to humanitarian service. The council noted Otten’s service as a medic in the U.S. Army and long career as a "born helper and teacher.”

Otten is also associate medical director for the Cincinnati Drug and Poison Information Center, chief medical officer of the KY-1 Disaster Medical Assistance Team, and leader of Hamilton County's SWAT and Urban Search and Rescue teams.
