Join the College of Medicine Instrumental Ensemble

The UC College of Medicine Instrumental Ensemble is a student-run organization that seeks to explore the connections between music and healing, provide opportunities for members’ personal and artistic development, and build partnerships with the medical community through service in Cincinnati.

The ensemble is seeking new members and welcomes any and all students, physicians, and staff members in the healthcare profession to join in making music.

The ensemble plans to perform a wide-ranging repertoire of instrumental music styles including (but not limited to): classical, jazz, contemporary and pop. Their goal is to organize a number of small group ensembles, in order to create a low time commitment and flexibility in scheduling rehearsals.

Members may choose to work toward performance opportunities throughout the year, or simply enjoy "jam sessions” with other musicians.

Possible performance opportunities include but are not limited to: the IvaDean Benefit Concert, the Art Show (in collaboration with The Fine Arts in Medicine Club), music therapy sessions at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, and the annual College of Medicine Talent Show. The group plans identify more opportunities and collaborate with the existing student groups throughout the coming year.

Interested musicians can sign up online or email hongye@mail.uc.edu with any questions or suggestions.
