Nursing Ranks Among Best for Veterans

The University of Cincinnati (UC) College of Nursing is ranked among the top 10 "Best Online Graduate Nursing Programs for Veterans" by U.S.News & World Report.

The rankings were part of U.S.News'  2014 "Best Online Programs for Veterans" rankings.

Distance education rankings specific to military veterans took into consideration affordability, accessibility and reputation of online programs.

UC College of Nursing offers a number of online and hybrid graduate nursing programs. The college began offering online nurse midwifery and women’s health nurse practitioner programs in 2005. Since then, the college’s online offerings have expanded to include an RN to BSN program, a nurse educator certificate program, a psychiatric mental health post-master's certificate, and additional MSN specializations in adult nurse practitioner, clinical nurse specialist/nurse educator, family nurse practitioner and nursing administration. The college also offers a hybrid neonatal nurse practitioner and doctor of nursing practice program.

Overall, the University of Cincinnati received a No. 32 ranking for its online bachelor's programs for veterans.

Funding expands UC research into weight gain side effects of bipolar medication

University of Cincinnati researchers have been approved for funding by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) to expand the implementation of healthy lifestyle interventions and metformin prescription to help manage weight gain in overweight or obese youth taking second-generation antipsychotic medications.
