DMP Students Gain Top Standing at Symposium
University of Cincinnati Doctor of Medical Physics students David Duwel and Thomas Iverson participated in a research symposium last weekend at the University of Toledo and took home first and second place and cash prizes as part of the competition. Duwel was awarded $300, and Iverson was awarded $200. The symposium was sponsored by the Ohio River Chapter of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine, which includes students from Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky.
This is the second consecutive year that a UC DMP student has been given the award for best research project; last year, Michael Hardin won the top award.
The DMP program is housed in the Department of Radiation Oncology and is only one of two programs of its kind in the country.
