UC March Mania Challenge Returns March 8-11

From March 8-11, the UC Foundation will host its second annual UC March Mania Challenge, a four-day fundraising competition between UC’s colleges and units. 

Each college or unit (team) earns 1 point for every donation it receives. The team with more points progresses to the next round, and one eliminated college will participate in the championship round as a "Wildcard” team. The last team standing wins $2,500 in scholarship funds and bragging rights.

Trial results support weekly buprenorphine treatment of opioid use disorder during pregnancy

Supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), researchers led by the University of Cincinnati's John Winhusen published clinical trial results in JAMA Internal Medicine that found administering weekly injectable extended-release buprenorphine for treatment of opioid use disorder during pregnancy led to higher rates of abstinence from illicit opioids than buprenorphine given daily under the tongue, one of the standard methods of treatment.
