Nursing Associate Dean to Speak at MLK Day Event

Karen Bankston, PhD, associate dean of clinical practice, partnership and community engagement in the UC College of Nursing will be the keynote speaker at the Church of the Resurrection’s 17th annual Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. "Keep The Dream Alive” awards ceremony on Monday, Jan. 16, 2017. 

The ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. at the Church of the Resurrection at 1619 Colerain Avenue in Cincinnati. The theme of this year’s event is "Building Bridges Not Barriers: We Are All Called.”

Funding expands UC research into weight gain side effects of bipolar medication

University of Cincinnati researchers have been approved for funding by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) to expand the implementation of healthy lifestyle interventions and metformin prescription to help manage weight gain in overweight or obese youth taking second-generation antipsychotic medications.
