UC's Online Graduate Nursing Program Ranked No. 5
The University of Cincinnati (UC) College of Nursing online graduate program came in at No. 5 in the U.S.News & World Report 2017 Best Online Programs rankings.
The rankingspulled from surveying distance education programs offered by public, private and for-profit institutionsreflect scores from faculty credentials and training, student engagement, admissions selectivity, peer reputation, and student services and technology.
The colleges online graduate program was ranked No. 8 in 2016.
"All online programs are not the same and this ranking reflects the quality of our online offeringssomething students should pay close attention to when selecting a program to advance their education and career, said College of Nursing Dean Greer Glazer, PhD, RN. "We have a strong history of and commitment to providing an excellent education for both our on-campus and distance learning students and those efforts are reflected in our continued rise in these and other rankings.
UCs College of Nursing was one of the first nursing colleges in the country to offer a complete online program in 2005. Today, the college offers a growing number of specialty masters degrees and certificates online, including Nurse Midwifery, Family Nurse Practitioner and Nursing Administration. More than 1,100 students are currently enrolled in the colleges online graduate nursing programs.

"We are thrilled that we have the ability to give nurses from all over the country the opportunity to further their careers, increase access to care and improve patient health care outcomes.
The commitment of the colleges faculty to teaching innovations has been noticed on a national scale, earning the UC College of Nursing high-profile recognition in the past year that likely contributed to the increase in the 2017 U.S.News & World Report rankings. The College has once again been recognized as an Apple Distinguished Program for innovation, leadership and educational excellence. The College of Nursing also received the 2016 Ohio Diversity Council DiversityFIRST award and the 2016 Insight into Diversity Health Professions Higher Education Excellence in Diversity Award.
"Being designated once again as an Apple Distinguished Program reflects the quality of education offered by the College of Nursing, says Glazer. "We want to be leaders in service that impacts the health of the community, and patients and their families should feel comforted to have a UC-trained nurse.
