Law School Opens Year With Address From Tennessee Chief Justice

The UC College of Law begins its 174th academic year on Tuesday, Aug. 22. Among the start-of-year activities for the students will be a welcoming address from Tennessee Supreme Court Chief Justice Mickey Barker, a member of the college's class of 1967.

"White Coat Ceremony" Kicks Off New School Year for the College...

At the White Coat Ceremony, first-year students are presented their white coats and must recite their "Oath of Commitment."  The students are thus reminded of the responsibilities they accepted when they committed to the pursuit of the practice of medicine.
