The University of Cincinnati has received a $50,000 Posen Foundation Grant to support the development of new courses related to the study of secular Jewish life and culture.

Nearly 20 percent of reported deaths in people with the rare lung disorder pulmonary alveolar proteinosis (PAP) are attributed to microbial infections. Researchers at UC and Cincinnati Children s Hospital Medical Center have identified a molecular defect in PAP sufferers, explaining why they are more susceptible to these deadly infections.

Repair work on chilled water lines will necessitate the closure of a section of Service Drive from March 19-23. Also work is beginning in Blegen Library that will take that building's rear elevator out of service for a number of weeks, and Blegen's front doors will be replaced over the next week.

Success in graduating African-American male athletes has earned UC's Department of Athletics national recognition with the 2007 Diversity in Athletics award. UC was one of just 10 schools nationally to earn recognition in this area.
