One of the nation's most high-profile legal figures, Harvard Law Professor Arthur R. Miller, will be teaching at the UC College of Law from Jan. 12-16 as the first Stanley M. Chesley Professor of Law. Miller, a leading expert on privacy issues, is also a familiar public figure with a long history of programs on PBS and serving for a number of years as the legal editor for ABC's "Good Morning America" program.

The focus will be on the pivotal year of 1919 when author Ann Hagedorn from Ripley, Ohio, makes a presentation on Jan. 11 at the Cincinnati Museum Center as part of the Seminar on the City program, which is co-sponsored by UC's Department of History. Hagedorn is author of the forthcoming book, "Savage Peace," scheduled for release this spring by Simon & Schuster.

Jorge Moscat, PhD, and Maria Diaz-Meco, PhD, are two of the Genome Research Institute s (GRI) newest recruits. And although the duo came to UC from the Spanish National Research Council a major research organization similar to the National Institutes of Health they say they aren t any less busy.

Nominations are now being accepted for the 15th annual Florence Nightingale Awards, presented by the UC College of Nursing. The awards. which will be presented at a ceremony on April 26, recognize excellence in direct patient care. Nomination information is available from the College of Nursing Web site, with nominations due by March 5.
