Disability Pride T-Shirt Contest

Disability Pride Flag, which includes red, gold, white, blue and green diagonal stripes. The faded black background mourning and rage for victims of ableist violence and abuse. The diagonal Bband cuts across the walls and barriers that separate the disabled from society, also representing light and creativity cutting through the darkness.

What is Disability Pride?

Disability pride is defined as accepting and honoring each person’s uniqueness, and seeing it as a natural and beautiful part of human diversity. Disability pride is an integral part of an inclusive crusade and, furthermore, a direct challenge to systemic ableism and stigmatizing definitions of disability. We encourage you to read more about Disability Pride and check out these resources as you consider your design:

Brand Guidelines and Visual Identity

All submissions must adhere to UC Brand Guidelines and align with the university's visual identity. Some important points to include:

  • You cannot modify any UC logos or images, such as the UC monogram or Bearcat.
  • The c-paw is considered an athletic mark and cannot be used for this shirt.
  • If you use red and black, be sure that you use UC's true red and black colors.

Judging Process

Once we receive your submissions, a committee will review each design to ensure it complies with all content rules. In cases where minor adjustments are required, we may ask you to make updates. Qualified designs will then be presented to our panel of judges for the final decision.

Thank you for joining us to celebrate Disability Pride at the University of Cincinnati. Your creativity can make a meaningful impact, promoting inclusivity and unity within our community. We look forward to seeing your inspiring designs!
