UC Faculty/Staff 911 Guide updated

Be prepared by reviewing the latest changes to this one-stop emergency resource

As part of UC’s ongoing priority for faculty, staff and student safety on all UC campuses, updates to the Faculty/Staff 911 Guide will save time when it matters most.

One important update to the Guide is best practices for calling 911 from campus. When calling 911 for an emergency on any UC campus, immediately tell the dispatcher you are ON campus and to dispatch the call to UCPD (calls may initially be answered by City or County personnel). UCPD is most familiar with campus and building layout, as well as evacuation plans and other appropriate actions for a swift and efficient response.

The Faculty/Staff 911 Guide is also a quick reference for many other types of situations. Key resources applicable to all campuses include:

UC’s Bearcat Guardian App to receive emergency notifications from UC Public Safety and stay connected to your safety network.

Mental Health Resources to address and resolve personal issues

  • UC’s 24/7 Crisis Helpline: (513) 556-0648
  • National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: 1-800-273-TALK (8255)
  • National Crisis Text Line: 741-741

Visit the Faculty/Staff 911 Guide web page to download a copy and access links to many other valuable campus resources.
