UC Women's Center accepting nominations for women's leadership award
Nominate a student for the 2019 C-Ring Women's Leadership Award
The UC Women’s Center is now accepting nominations for the 2019 C-Ring Women’s Leadership Award. This award, a 10-karat gold ring, represents a legacy of University of Cincinnati undergraduate women who exemplify advocacy for women and girls, commitment to the university and the community and academic excellence.
The UC Women’s Center will celebrate all eligible nominated women and their nominators at a January reception. Finalists and their nominators are recognized at the annual UC Women’s Center Award Ceremony on March 29.
C-Ring Women’s Leadership Award Criteria
- Eligibility for graduation. The student must be eligible to graduate from a University of Cincinnati baccalaureate degree program in August of 2018, December of 2018, or April of 2019.
- Excellence in academic learning and discovery. The student must have a cumulative University grade point average of 3.2 or better. Additional accomplishments might include published research or presentations at organized conferences, acceptance to a graduate program, or acceptance to Teach for America or the Peace Corps.
- Demonstrated advocacy for women and/or girls. The student must be actively and voluntarily participating in an activity that reflects advocacy for women and/or girls. Examples include organizing campus or community events that benefit women, developing media that positively impact women, or ongoing volunteer work in non-profit organizations that serve women.
- Demonstrated commitment to the betterment of our campus and community. The student must be actively and voluntarily participating in UC organizations that reflect UC’s commitment to community growth such as RAPP (Racial Awareness Program), Women in Leadership and Learning (WILL), GlobeMed, Student Government or other student organizations.
If you know a graduating senior woman who meets the criteria above, we encourage you to submit your nomination now. UC Women’s Center staff will verify eligibility, notify the nominated student, and provide application materials. Should the student apply for this award they will contact you to request a formal letter of support. Nominations must be submitted via CampusLINK by December 21.
