Health Promotion and Education Students Attend and Present at National Conference

Health Promotion and Education Students receives highest honor

Health Promotion & Education Masters students, Nabil Pervaiz and Michelle Glancey represented Gamma Eta, UC’s chapter of Eta Sigma Gamma, a national health education honorary organization, at the Society of Public Health Education (SOPHE) annual conference held March 29 - April 1, 2017, in Denver, Colorado. The students, along with faculty sponsor, Amanda Lynch, presented three posters at the conference highlighting projects conducted in the 2015-2016 school year and recent accomplishments of the chapter. Travel was supported by the School of Human Services.

During the conference, the Gamma Eta chapter was presented with the Chapter Excellence award for their accomplishments in the 2015 - 2016 academic year. This award is the highest honor given to a chapter from the Eta Sigma Gamma organization. The chapter was also recognized with the Research Activity of the Year award for its “Healthy Eating on a Budget” campaign and panel discussion held in the spring semester of 2016.

University of Cincinnati college is piloting a program to serve alumni of foster and kinship care

In 2025 the Ohio Reach Postsecondary designation was awarded to UC's College of Education, Criminal Justice, Human Services, and Information Technology (CECH) as part of the program's third cohort. The program recognizes and supports higher education institutions that have worked to make their campuses welcoming and accessible for students with a history in foster or kinship care. CECH will run a pilot program called Anchor Point aimed at wide-scale implementation across the campus in Fall 2026.

Celebrating the newest Bearcats on Decision Day

The University of Cincinnati admits its newest Bearcats for Fall 2026. Interest in the university is at an all-time high with more than 35,000 applicants for admission. Decision Day was also a time to celebrate 10 new Marian Spencer Scholarship recipients.
