UC students can learn about building good credit, budgeting and smart borrowing habits at the Money Con event while earning prizes and taking a selfie with the UC Bearcat mascot
University of Cincinnati students can get a crash course in finance and budgeting skills at the Money Con event set for April 10..
The free event, offered 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the third floor atrium of the Tangeman University Center, features more than 20 on- and off-campus vendors offering financial resources and tips to students as well as games and prizes, a “Money Machine” and chances for selfies with the UC Bearcat mascot.
A “cash cart” will also be operating throughout campus and students can try their hand at “Life After UC: The Game.”
The event is offered as part of Financial Literacy Month celebrated in April, said organizer Sydney Meimann, assistant director of financial literacy program management in UC’s One Stop Student Service Center.
Students will have a chance to learn about establishing and maintaining good credit, building a budget and smart borrowing habits, she said.
“We want to bring everything together in one place for students,” Meimann said of the event. “We will be there to provide financial resources and tips to UC students with the hope of encouraging their interest in their own financial knowledge and to enhance their money management skills.”
