UC Blue Ash names new associate dean of academic affairs
Tracy Herrmann will oversee the fast-growing college's 13 academic departments and more than 50 degree and certificate programs
Tracy Herrmann is the new associate dean of academic affairs at the University of Cincinnati (UC) Blue Ash College.
Herrmann , who has served as interim associate dean of academic affairs for the college since last July, will officially begin her new role on June 1.
Prior to that, Herrmann taught in the radiologic technology program for more than 30 years and served as program director for radiologic technology and chair of the Allied Health Department. She has also served as chair of the UC Faculty Senate and as president and board chair for the Association of Educators in Imaging and Radiologic Sciences.
“Tracy is a highly-respected leader who brings a wealth of academic experience, concern for students and a collaborative style that will help her excel in this role and help us continue to enhance our academic curriculum,” said Robin Lightner, dean of UC Blue Ash College.
As associate dean of academic affairs, Herrmann will oversee the college’s 13 academic departments and more than 50 degree and certificate programs, including two bachelor’s degrees. She will also manage other academic initiatives.
Herrmann earned her undergraduate degree in allied health from The Ohio State University, her master’s in health education and a PhD in educational policy & higher education, both from UC. She has received numerous awards for her work as an educator, including the UC Award for Exemplary Faculty Service and the U.S. Food & Drug Administration Leveraging Collaboration Award for her role on the national Image Gently campaign, which created guidelines to reduce the impact of radiation on children when receiving an x-ray exam.
