Personal software sales transition to IT@UC ResNet

The University of Cincinnati's IT@UC ResNet will begin selling software previously available through local bookstores starting July 1.

Mathematic also will move from OntheHub to UC's ResNet. To ensure a smooth transition, and allow more time for the release of TouchNet online ordering, both the Follett Bookstore and OntheHub will continue sales during the month of July.

The reason for this decision is two-fold. The first is due to slowing bookstore sales, declining significantly with Microsoft’s home-access being provided online via Office365. Secondly, this transition will improve efficiency. Since ResNet already acquires the software from supplier portals, prepares disks and delivers the inventory to the bookstore, this transition will simplify the availability and delivery of software, lower its cost and reduce expenditures. 

ResNet currently offers IT support for students, faculty and staff for non-university-owned devices. This support includes free estimates, hardware repairs and new hardware installations. Hardware services offered by ResNet include hard-drive replacement, screen replacement and motherboard replacement, with all parts being supplied by the customer.  ResNet also currently provides limited software support at no charge, which includes installation of software, operating systems (Windows and OSX) and removal of viruses and malware.

 At this time, ResNet has two on-campus locations: Suite 535 Steger Student Life Center, 2801 UC Main Street (across from Subway) and Suite 260 University Hall, 51 Goodman Drive.

Hours for both locations are: Monday Through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. No appointments are necessary and walk-ins are always welcome. However, only one of the two locations, the Steger Student Life Center, will offer software with credit card (no cash) transactions.
