Jeff Bauer reappointed dean at UC Clermont College
Dean Jeffrey Bauer
Jeffrey C. Bauer has been reappointed Dean of UC Clermont College for a second term, effective July 1, 2020, and extending through June 30, 2025.
“Growth in access and affordability is essential for students seeking a quality public education at UC Clermont. Jeff has led initiatives to enhance student retention, increase philanthropic support and build community connections to guide the future of the college," Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Kristi A. Nelson said. "The development of a strategic vision that builds upon these successes and aligns with the university’s strategic direction, Next Lives Here, will be of increasing importance."
Bauer began his tenure as dean on May 15, 2015.
“Over the past four years, we have made great strides toward growth in e-learning, student retention, academic excellence and fiscal responsibility. We have made improvements to the campus and infrastructure that will serve our students well far into the future and that demonstrate our commitment to sustainability," he said.
"I am especially proud of our track record for significantly increasing corporate sponsorships and private donations. These new funds have allowed us to create endowments to support the liberal arts, our food pantry and career closet in perpetuity."
Bauer has been at UC Clermont for 24 years as a professor, department chair and dean.
“I look forward to continuing in this role and leading UC Clermont through our 50th Anniversary celebration in 2022," he said. "My focus for my second term will be to grow our academic offerings and quality, to continue to enhance our community involvement, to invest in the professional development of our faculty and staff, to provide transparency in communications and decision making, and to ensure our students the best possible 21st-century education and experience at UC Clermont.
"I would like to offer a special thanks to the decanal review committee for providing a thoughtful analysis and advice that will be helpful to me in my second term,” Bauer said.
