Local Media: UC medical students launch, operate free health clinic in Springdale

Pharmacy and other students at UC also join the effort to assist uninsured residents

WCPO covered the opening of a free health clinic at the Healing Center in Springdale run by medical students and physician-faculty at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.

The clinic opened this summer in hopes of increasing access to health care services for uninsured Tristate residents. The clinic will initially operate 9 a.m. until noon every Saturday.

It was created by medical students, who will provide care under the supervision of physicians who are part of the UC College of Medicine faculty. Licensed interpreters also will be available for non-English speaking patients. The effort to assist uninsured residents also includes students at the James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy and others from across the UC campus.

The Cincinnati Business Courier also published an online feature on the clinic.
