AP: GOP, Trump launch campus effort to register, mobilize voters

The Associated Press reports this week on the Republican National Committee’s efforts to mobilize President Donald Trump’s supporters through the “Make America Great Again” initiative. The campaign, which launched last week on four Ohio campuses, seeks to enlist younger voters and enlarge the party’s base, explains University of Cincinnati political scientist David Niven. The associate professor of political science goes on to explain how that younger demographic – which traditionally favored Democrats in significant margins in recent elections – could spell the “margin of victory” in a close election.
