Join Healthy UC for Well-being Wednesdays
Every Wednesday, Healthy UC will offer opportunities for students, faculty and staff
As we move through this unprecedented time in our country, with challenges and uncertainty impacting both our professional and personal lives, it is more important than ever to make sure you are taking care of yourself both physically and mentally.
Whether you’re struggling to adjust to remote work and online classes, taking care of children or aging parents, or feeling socially isolated, so much rapid change can take a toll.
In response, Healthy UC is launching an initiative called Well-being Wednesdays. This weekly series will give faculty, staff and students the opportunity to participate in a variety of interactive and educational programming online.
Well-being Wednesdays will launch Wednesday, April 1. Programming is still being developed. Visit the Healthy UC website for updates.
Here are some tips for coping with working remotely:
- Create a routine. Treat your work day like you would if you were in the office. Set up a dedicated work space.
- Take breaks from watching, reading, or listening to news stories, including social media.
- Care for your body. Take deep breaths, stretch or meditate. Try to eat healthy, exercise regularly and get plenty of sleep.
- Connect with others. Talk with people about how you’re feeling.
- Make time to unwind. Try to do some other activities you enjoy.
Well-being Wednesdays will launch Wednesday, April 1. Stay tuned for details!

What is Healthy UC?
Healthy UC is a university wide collaborative working to build a culture of well-being across the university with UC faculty, staff, and students. The Steering Committee consists of representatives from:
- Campus Recreation
- College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services (CECH): Health Promotion and Education
- Human Resources: Benefits and Be Well UC
- Student Affairs: Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) and Student Wellness Center
- College of Medicine and University Health Services
A kick-off event was launched to welcome new members in late January in partnership with the Live Well Collaborative. About 39 students, faculty and staff came together from over 20 areas across UC. Each member joined one of the four working groups to continue building upon the culture of well-being at the University of Cincinnati focused on Data and Assessment, Marketing and Communications, Culture and Environment, and Programming and Education.
