CET: Art in Isolation: CCM Musical Theatre
Local PBS show highlights annual showcase's transition to digital
Southwest Ohio PBS affiliate CET featured the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music on its program, "The Art Show," in a series about artists in the age of COVID-19.
"Art in Isolation" looks at how artists and their artforms have been impacted by the pandemic and how have they adapted to the situation. This episode highlights how CCM's Musical Theatre program innovated its Senior Showcase — which would have taken place in New York City this month — due to COVID-19.
When the annual New York trip was cancelled, CCM alumni stepped in to create a virtual showcase. Now students can still get their work in front of casting directors, agents and other industry leaders in New York and across the globe.
