UC, Cincinnati Children's experts create an app to help those experiencing pandemic-induced anxiety.

Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center announced the launch of a new smartphone app that uses artificial intelligence-powered chat bots to engage users in conversations about their mental health. The app was created in partnership with experts from the University of Cincinnati and Wysa, a digital behavioral health platform developer.

John, Pestian, PhD, a Cincinnati Children's expert in developing natural language processing and machine learning tools to address mental health concerns, helped create the app with Michael Sorter, MD, director of Cincinnati Children's Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and Jeffrey Strawn, MD, an anxiety expert in the University of Cincinnati's Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience.
