UC Staff Senate accepting nominations for Staff Excellence Awards
Second annual program recognizes outstanding staff members
Let’s recognize our outstanding staff. University of Cincinnati staff contribute to Next Lives Here initiatives and the academic mission of the university every day with their hard work. We invite the university community to help us recognize the effort and dedication of UC staff members and their outstanding perseverance and innovative support of the university through the challenges of the last year.
Do you know a UC staff member who goes above and beyond, and directly contributes to the success of the university? Nominations for the Staff Excellence Awards are now open! Submit your nomination today.
Nominations are due by 5:00 PM, Friday, Nov. 20, 2020.
Eligibility
All university staff members not principally charged with teaching are eligible for the Staff Excellence Award.
Nominations
Nominations may be made by any member of the UC staff, faculty or administration. Nominators may submit multiple nominations by completing a separate form for each staff nomination.
Criteria
Nominees will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Service attitude
- Commitment to academic mission
- Innovation
- Job excellence
- Team work
- Uncommon accomplishments or special achievement
Process
- Nominations will be accepted through the online web form until 5:00 PM on Friday, Nov. 20, 2020.
- Ten nominated staff members will be selected by a committee consisting of members of the Staff Senate Communication & Recognition Committee and past Staff Excellence Award recipients.
- Awardees will be honored at an online ceremony to be held on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2020 from 2-3 p.m.

This initiative was launched through the Dean’s Office in August 2024, and is expanding its role as a central hub for scholarly activity and research support within the Arts & Sciences (A&S) community. Designed to serve faculty, students, and staff, the initiative aims to strengthen research productivity, foster collaboration, and enhance teaching innovation. Discovery Amplified was created to help scholars define and pursue academic goals while increasing the reach and impact of A&S research and training programs locally and globally. The unit provides tailored guidance, connects collaborators, and supports strategic partnerships that promote innovation across disciplines.
Blood Cancer Healing Center realizes vision of comprehensive care
