WLWT: ‘Everyone is attacking everyone’: cyberattacks skyrocket
UC cyber security expert speaks to current cyber threats
There’s been a significant uptick in cyber threats over the past six months, and everyone with a digital connection is at risk, experts say.
“There’s no going back to a pre-digital age,” says Gregory Winger, a cyber security expert and assistant professor in UC's School of Public and International Affairs.
In a WLWT news segment which featured Winger, reporters explain that the recent increase can be attributed to the war in Ukraine, but it’s not just the Russians who are circling the international waters online.
Cybersecurity experts said people should protect themselves — making sure to update digital devices, including some people might not consider right away. The WLWT segment also gives tips on how to secure your digital footprint.
