How to save money and graduate on time

At One Stop, we love seeing our students and sharing their educational journey. But we also like watching them save money and graduate on time, too. School costs a lot of money, we get that. So, if you’re looking for ways to cut costs during your time at UC, you may want to talk to your academic advisor about an idea called, “15 to finish.” Here’s what it is:

  • By taking 15 credit hours each semester, you will save money and graduate on time.
  • It doesn’t cost any extra money to take 15 hours, since the rate for undergraduates is the same from 12 to 18 hours. You will not be charged extra.
  • By taking three extra hours each semester for four semesters, you will eliminate an extra semester at the end of your program. Which means saving money and time in the end.

That sounds too good to be true. What's the catch?

  • There is no catch. Credits between 12 and 18 for undergraduates have always been the same price. "15 to finish" is just bringing that fact to light for students.
  • 15 hours can be a lot for students, so that’s why it’s important to talk to your academic advisor to see if it would be a good fit for you. When we say "15 to finish," it requires students to pass all 15 hours each semester to save money.

If you’re looking to cut an extra semester or two off your stay here at UC, you may want to speak with your academic advisor. If you can handle 12 hours every semester, think about kicking it up a notch by enrolling in 15 hours. You will save money and get started on your career earlier. We’d hate to see you go, but we’d be happy that you saved some money!
