Hoxworth Blood Center, Cincinnati Cyclones host 12th annual Queen City Blood Drive at Duke Energy Convention Center
Hoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati, is teaming up with the Cincinnati Cyclones to save lives by hosting the 12th annual Queen City Blood Drive on Tuesday, Feb. 14 and Wednesday, Feb. 15.
The two-day blood drive is scheduled from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Feb. 14 and 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Feb. 15 at the Duke Energy Convention Center at 525 Elm Street. All donors will receive a free Queen City T-shirt, a voucher for two tickets for an upcoming Cincinnati Cyclones game, a Donatos pizza voucher, as well as a $10 Fleet Feet coupon and a Flying Pig bag (while supplies last).
“The Queen City Blood Drive continues to be one of our most popular events year after year, and we are so excited to see hundreds of lifesaving donors come out and donate with us,” said Jackie Marschall, spokesperson for Hoxworth Blood Center. “There’s no better way to celebrate our pride for the Queen City than by saving lives right here in the Tri-State area—especially at a time when blood collections are needed.”
Marschall noted that January and February are difficult months for blood banks across the United States, as flu season, inclement weather and busy schedules in the new year impact collections. Hoxworth is the sole supplier of blood products to area hospitals in the Tri-State and must collect at least 450 units daily to meet local demand.
Complimentary parking provided by SP+ Parking at the Plum/Convention Garage located at 605 Plum Street.
Due to the popularity of this event, appointments are highly encouraged for the Queen City Blood Drive. Donors can schedule appointments by calling (513) 451-0910 or by scheduling online at hoxworth.org/queencity.
